Welcome to the Weybridge Rifle and Pistol Club Website that I hope you find it of interest and provides you with a few answers to some questions about and the sport of target shooting.

Many who have not shot before have concerns about handling firearms but contrary to popular belief target shooting is a very safe sport due to the strict controls that are employed and the way firearms are controlled.

Shooting is an Internationally recognised sport and nationally has produced many medals for England at the Olympic and Commonwealth games.  The sport itself draws on an individual’s co-ordination, concentration and attention to detail rather than the more physical aspects, although these are still important.  Many people are able to compete without being disadvantaged by physical constraints.

Established over 100 years ago our club is one of the oldest in the country and held in high regard by the target shooting fraternity. Being an old established club does not mean it is “old fashioned”, indeed quiet the opposite is true; it has always moved with the times and has often lead with innovative ideas.

Whether you are a novice to shooting or an experienced shot but possess a genuine interest in the sport of target shooting the Weybridge Rifle and Pistol Club could be well worth a closer look.

Learn to Shoot

If you would like to learn to shoot, haven't shot in a while and would like to start up again or are looking for a club with a full bore indoor range, why not come along to visit us and introduce yourself. We are a friendly club and shooters of all ages and abilities are welcome. You do not need to own a gun, we can provide free loan of a club gun and show you how to shoot safely. Our 'green fees' and ammunition prices are kept as low as possible to make the sport as accessible to as many people as possible - you can enjoy an evening of shooting for as little as £5 (£2 green fees, £2.50 for 50 rounds of .22LR and 50p for 5 targets).

Please feel free to contact us using one of the options on our contact information page or drop by the club.

Work Party 1

What a great day we had on Sunday - and we were lucky with the weather.

The clubhouse now looks smart and proud in its nice new coat of paint. The weeds have been well cut back. The block pointing on the firing point has been completed and is ready for painting. The cuprinol
treatment of woodwork is finished on the firing point and well under way on the outdoor airgun firing point. The digging out at the butts is 3/4 finished and shuttered, that at the firing point is started.

16 people helped, and there was a terrific atmosphere of industry and fun. My thanks to all of you. A true galaxy of stars!

I must single out Marge though for special mention. Bearing in mind she has just had a serious operation and should be resting from efforts at the club, she baked specially for the work party producing scones and cakes! How does this lady do it? That deserves a special big thankyou! (They were great tasting too!)

The work continues in the background. Those who are able are meeting this week on Wednesday morning. All are welcome, so if you haven't helped so far and would like to join in then just come along. I will be there for 9.30.

I will sort out work party 2 over the next week or two and circulate details.

Photos of the works in progress are now in the web site photo gallery.
